Academic skills support

ADD (Academic Development Department) offers extensive support to students across a full range of topics reflecting academic skills and numeracy skills.

Workshops

Workshops are provided in response to student groups' direct requests as well as in collaboration with module and course leaders. All our workshops are tailored to meet the requirements of our students, module and course leaders.

Tutorials

Tutorials are offered for both ‘academic’ and ‘numeracy’ skills, every week throughout academic term time. Booking details can be found on iCity.

Numeracy

We provide numeracy skills and mathematics support to students in the faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences. Support can be accessed via workshops embedded within modules that have mathematics or numeracy content and also through bespoke one-to-one or small group tutorials. Within these tutorials students negotiate the topics to be covered.

We also provide online resources held on our Moodle site.
