Amanda qualified as a registered general nurse in 1987 and she has worked in the UK in surgery and ICU. Amanda has also worked in New Zealand in an ambulatory care department and as a school nurse. She managed a Programme that supported newly qualified nurses in their first year of practice and taught at the University of Auckland.

Amanda currently teaches on the Nursing Associate foundation degree which is a work based learning programme that supports experienced Health Care Assistants to become a Nursing Associate, a new role that has been developed to support the clinical team to deliver high quality nursing care.
