Our expertise reflects the two areas within our school: fashion and textiles.

Fashion

We have a diverse team of lecturers, all from an industry background. Our team have a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience.

Expertise includes buying, merchandising, design, marketing, trend forecasting, PR, event management and business. We have a real world focus, which prepares students for a career in the fashion industry.

Textiles

Our staff members have high-end industry experience in design and manufacturing and help students to learn and develop design expertise that is industry focused and commercially aware – increasing their employability and outlook.

Our in-house staff team is complemented by Visiting Tutors who are successful designers and makers.

Staff focus

Jasbir Kaur

Jasbir is Deputy Director of Postgraduate Programmes in Fashion and Textiles and has extensive experience in commercial textile design and magazine production. Her work is published internationally and she has specific research interests in South Asian fashion.

Annette Clarke

The early phase of Annette's career was as a Designer for Christian Dior Lingerie, Paris. Moving into fashion buying she developed extensive buying experience at a senior executive level, managing multi-channel product strategy and product development across a wide range of retail sectors. Nazlı Alimen

Nazlı obtained her Ph.D. from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Her PhD research was an interdisciplinary project: focusing on three faith-inspired communities and their male and female members in Turkey, Nazlı examined everyday Islam as it is experienced and expressed through the body and embodied practices in private and public spaces.
