She has previously worked as a consultant at the University on two EU-funded programmes, offering support to regional SMEs in the environmental goods and services sector, as well as working as a process scientist for Severn Trent Water. After completing her PhD, with funding by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Lynsey helped establish a spin-out company from the University of Wolverhampton, offering consultancy in the water and wastewater industry.
Her research has previously been included in the Research Councils’ UK report ‘Big Ideas for the Future’, which highlights key research across the UK and was supported by leading academics such as Sir Robert Winston and Professor Iain Stewart. The report praised research that had a positive impact on economic growth and wellbeing.
Lynsey has designed and commissioned a state-of-the-art research facility which houses a number of pilot-scale and lab-scale technologies, together with a range of analytical equipment for testing environmental samples.
She is now principle investigator on two large EU-funded programmes, EnAlgae and BioenNW, as well as leading the Bioenergy research group in accelerating the adoption of environmentally sustainable energy.
