School of Education

The School of Education trains more teachers than any other university in the West Midlands, and is the 10th largest teacher training provider in the UK. The School was recently awarded ‘Grade One: Outstanding’ by Ofsted for both its primary and secondary provision and it is recognised by the Training and Development Agency (TDA) for the high quality of its courses.
Conveniently located within the City North Campus, the school provides a range of courses for those who wish to teach and work with young children, primary and secondary age children and adults. Its close links to urban schools, colleges and multi-ethnic communities ensure that lecturers are up to date with current practice, and graduates are prepared for some of the most challenging and rewarding roles in the profession.
In 2010 96% of our undergraduate teacher trainees and 98% of our postgraduate teacher trainees were successful in securing teaching posts (www.unistats.com).

School of Law

Located at the heart of the City North Campus, students at the School of Law take advantage of unique learning facilities with virtual learning and two fully equipped mock court rooms.
Over its forty year history, the School has established both a strong reputation in legal education and close links with local and international partners.
The School’s reputation for excellence in vocationally-led learning has seen numerous commendations. For example, in the last grading exercise, our LPC was awarded the highest grade of ‘Commendable Practice’ in all six Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) criteria, putting the University amongst the best providers in the country.
