A day in the life of an education, childhood and youth student

Want to know what it's really like to be an education student at Birmingham City University? Our student Jameire shares her experience.

Jameire's story

Jameire chose to study at Birmingham City University because she was impressed with the modern facilities and how well the university engages with students. She decided to study Children and Integrated Professional Care (now known as BA (Hons) Working with Children, Families and Young People) because the course was tailored to her interests and could lead to several different career paths after studying. She also loves the convenience of Birmingham not being far from her home town which means she can  travel back to see friends and family with ease.

Jameire is also due to begin a voluntary role as a wellbeing worker in a mental health hub for children and young people at the Children’s Society and Forward Thinking Birmingham. When Jameire is not busy studying or helping out volunteering, she is practising dance moves and organising fundraisers as part of the Birmingham City University Cheerleading Society.
