Media Enterprise MA
The course is for you if you are looking to start or improve your career in the creative sector. It allows you to develop your business and entrepreneurial skills and maximise the chances of success. It is ideal if you are already working in the creative sector or looking to set up a business or improve your employability.
The course will give you the opportunity to explore and develop your own ideas with support from staff and mentors, including the option to create a personal business plan.
The course has a strong emphasis on relating study and assessment to a business start up or a work situation.
It is a flexible programme with three modes of delivery, full-time or part-time, either on a day or half-day release basis. All lectures are on a Thursday and full-time students are expected to attend two days a week.
Postgraduate Certificate
This phase provides a critical overview of how media, social and creative enterprises operate both regionally and globally and how this given rise to a digital culture and a new economy. It will also give you an opportunity to conduct an audit of your own skills and address areas in which these need to be enhanced.
Postgraduate Diploma
This phase develops the entrepreneurial skills needed to build an enterprise and how to evaluate business and investment opportunities. It will also provide the necessary insight to achieve growth through innovation and creativity.
MA
You will focus on setting up a company or developing and introducing enterprise initiatives to an existing organisation while you continue to advance your knowledge and understanding of enterprise.
Attendance
Assessment is by written reports, presentations, practical projects and dissertations. The assessment methods are tailored to the ‘learning outcomes’ of each module and seek to test basic knowledge in the earlier stages and also promote deep learning and an ability to relate theory to practice in the later stages.
Entry Requirements
A first or second class Honours degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualifications or experience.

The nature of this course in business-led and it is specifically aimed at improving your employability or assisting you to set up or improve a business. It will supply you with the skills and knowledge to make the leap from creative student to creative entrepreneur or practitioner.
