Clock and Watch Servicing
Repair and Restoration of Watches
Repair and Restoration of Clocks

Course Outline

Course Structure

In your first year you’ll cover the theory of mechanical timekeeping, pendulums and escapements, including elementary gearing and train calculators, workshop practice and technical drawing.

In your second and third years, greater focus is given to modern mechanical and electrical timekeeping, advanced workshop skills and restoration techniques for antique clocks or watches.

All this will enable you to create a complete portfolio of repairs necessary for the BHI examinations.

For all courses the horology workshops form an important part of your learning and as such are modern and fully equipped with the latest tools and machinery. Our experienced staff are practicing horologists, whose individual specialisms cover a wide range of areas to complement your learning.
