International Students

Support while you study

Renowned for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we go to great lengths to ensure that our international students are supported in both pastoral and academic matters during their studies.

1
International orientation week

When you first arrive in Birmingham you will take part in an International Welcome Week, during which you will have the chance to meet and get to know other international students at the University, including Conservatoire students.

2
Academic mentoring sessions and individual tutorials

If English is not your first language you can take advantage of our Academic Mentoring scheme, which offers support in conversation, musical terminology, as well as academic writing. Individual tutorials are also available for all students with tutors from the Centre for Academic Success.

3
International student mentor

Birmingham Conservatoire offers a mentoring scheme, led by our International Student Mentor, Beetung Goo, providing pastoral support to international students and helping you to swiftly adapt to living and studying in the UK.
