ShruthiUK celebrates 10 successful years of serving various communities in Britain through Indian Classical Music and Dance. It is a South Asian arts organisation based in Birmingham committed to enrich the exposure and appreciation of Indian performing arts in the West Midlands.
ShruthiUK proudly launches the British Carnatic Choir Grand Première; the brainchild of UK based Carnatic vocalist Dr. Chithra Ramakrishnan. It aims to provide talented musicians and students of all age groups a platform to explore choral singing in Carnatic (South Indian Classical) Music and showcase the similarities between Carnatic, Western and other systems of World Music.
The British Carnatic Choir aims to take this genre of music across the UK to diverse communities and encourage community cohesion.
The première will feature a concert by children and young adults and music professionals from across the country. The event will also feature performances by aspiring and also established vocalists, dancers and percussionists from diverse communities in the UK.
