Mahler Symphony No.5
After a season of performing in venues across the city, join us in Birmingham’s historic Town Hall for our final orchestral concert of the year. Michael Seal conducts the Conservatoire’s Symphony Orchestra in Mahler’s enduring Symphony No.5 – a piece of grandness and depth, it includes perhaps the most famous music written by the composer, the fourth-movement Adagietto for harp and strings.
Before this there will be contributions from two senior students – a brand new orchestral piece by composer Chloe Knibbs followed by I-Hsuan Peng, a pianist on the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma performance course, playing one of Mozart’s most popular concertos, which captivates the audience with its delicacy and elegance.
