Following the success of the University’s 2017 Welcome Week app, we are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE) is launching the Tandem Labs ‘University Assistant’ app. The app is set to transform student engagement and deliver students information tailored to their university experience.

The Assistant app will provide students with notices, updates on events and assessments, Welcome Week and course information, as well as articles that matter to students.

The app has been deployed as part of a research project led by Professor Nick Morton and Professor Hanifa Shah which has been funded by the University Investment Fund. The project aims to transform levels of student engagement using mobile technology, rich media content, and in-the-moment student feedback.

The collaboration with our technology partner, Tandem Labs, will be coordinated by the Research, Innovation and Enterprise team.

The app is now live and available to download on Android and IOS. The app will initially be exclusive to CEBE students however, it is anticipated that the usage of the Assistant app will extend across the University following the successful pilot within the Faculty.

If you wish to discover more about this exciting project, please contact Professor Nick Morton, Associate Dean (Student Learning Experience), CEBE.
