We are recognised internationally for the high quality of our teaching, research and extensive industry partnerships, and have established ourselves as one of the leading academies for Microsoft and Cisco Systems.
Our computing courses have been recognised in a national review undertaken by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, and a report by the British Computer Society congratulated us for our “support and monitoring” of students.
Integrated master's degrees
An integrated master’s degree is a four year degree course which combines three years of undergraduate study with an additional fourth year at postgraduate level.
We deliver computing-related courses designed to equip you with the skills demanded by technical industries and employers. These include computer science, programming languages, software engineering, information systems, e-business technologies through to electronics, artificial intelligence, web technologies and language technology.
All our BSc honours degrees in computing are either accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), or have been submitted for accreditation. Honours degree students are granted full exemption from BCS exams. A number of honours degrees also carry partial Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
We offer a full range of courses, including postgraduate degrees, right up to PhD level, as well as short professional courses. Students opting for full-time degree courses have an optional work placement year between the second and third years of study.
To complement the teaching, we are also involved with thriving research programmes that cover a wide range of interests, including language technology, cryptography, security, forensics, programming languages and advanced communications engineering and intelligent systems.
As a student here, you can expect a wide-reaching education in computing and related areas that are supported by first-class staff, flexible teaching methods and close links with industry that give you the advantage in the workplace.
