Driving interdisciplinary collaboration to provide comprehensive future creative solutions

iCI provides a cross-innovative approach to complex business problems, by providing expertise from across Birmingham City University’s four faculties. Having carefully considered the objectives of your project, we will select academics with creative expertise specifically tailored to drive through practical solutions to your current challenges.

Our key thematic areas

iCI focuses on key themes of activity that match the strengths of our academic expertise and the demands of creative business and other organisations interested in using creative thinking to grow their ideas. These key thematic areas are:

Culture - A highly developed culture in your business or organisation is integral to supporting growth and development, through greater talent retention, brand recognition, and stronger internal and external relationships. We focus on helping organisations to nurture their cultural focus, as well as create and develop projects that promote it.

Design - Design methods are being increasingly applied to rethinking services and creating fresh, innovative responses to social challenges. Embedding “design thinking” into business processes can help to generate and visualise new ideas, ready for testing.

Digital - Digital technologies and platforms have the potential to enhance your organisation’s projects and services in an unlimited number of ways. By applying critical and strategic thinking combined with digital expertise, you can future proof your organisation, using new technologies to develop game-changing projects or innovative changes to your processes.
