International Travel Scholarship
In 2017, the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment launched the International Travel Scholarship in order to increase opportunities for our students to undertake study abroad programmes, internships and voluntary roles internationally. You can apply for a scholarship of up to £1,000 to support your activity.
International experiences not only support your personal development but also build your professional skills and improve your employability. By stepping out of your comfort zone, you’ll improve your job prospects while seeing the world.
This year, we have awarded bursaries to students from courses including civil engineering, film production, computer networks and quantity surveying.
Students are using their scholarship for activities such as:
- Industry-related projects in India.
- Undertaking an engineering sandwich placement in Brazil.
- Studying at one of our partner universities in the US.
- Community work in the Philippines.
Explore the range of travel destinations and activities that our students are undertaking this year with our interactive map. Click on the blue dots to find out how each student used the scholarship.
Interested in applying?
The International Travel Scholarship is offered on a yearly basis. In order to apply, you will need to submit an application form, and then attend a selection interview.
In the application, you will be asked to explain your travel plans and what you hope to achieve with the scholarship. Initial information and application forms will be released in the Autumn Semester, with decisions on funding made in early spring.
