The Ambassador Service

The Ambassador Service was developed to support the work of the Education Liaison team and to provide prospective students with an insight into studying at university.

Student Ambassadors come from a wide variety of faculties, which means that they are able to provide a broad picture of living and studying at the University. You will usually spot our Ambassadors when you visit for a University Open Day or on a school group visit.

The students will meet and greet, offer campus tours and are generally available to answer questions. Their knowledge of Birmingham City University and student life in general is invaluable for our potential students and their families - pupils on school visits relate better to current students and are more willing to ask questions.

Ambassadors also support our current students, easing the transition into university life. They can be on hand to give advice in the library, socialise with international students who are both new to the campus and the country, and are also available during Fresher’s activities.

Student Ambassadors follow a rigorous selection process, first applying for the role and then attending a selection and training workshop.

To find out more about becoming an Ambassador, or to speak to the co-ordinator about using Ambassadors to support your school or university event, please contact Education Liaison on +44 (0)121 331 6318 or email education.liaison@bcu.ac.uk.
