If you're unable to attend one of our formally arranged open days or visit days, you're welcome to visit to have a look round if you're interested in a course that's taught here on City North campus. This gives you the opportunity to see the grounds and get a feel for the campus.

How can I find my way around City North campus?

Please download our City North Campus Self-Guided Tour which you should bring with you when you visit.

What do I need to know before visiting the campus in my own time?

Visiting the campus outside of formally arranged Open Days and visit days can limit what you'll be able to see due to staff and service availability. Therefore, wherever possible, we recommend attending a formally arranged Open Day or visit day, as these really do provide a fuller opportunity to see the campus, take advantage of available tours, view accommodation and meet with staff and students. However, we know it's not always possible to do this - so, if you're planning an ad hoc visit outside of our formally arranged open days and visit days, important things to note are:

  • City North campus is open access and you can walk around the grounds at your leisure.
  • Security staff are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • You can peruse the campus grounds at your own pace!

Parking on campus at the weekend is usually not a problem.Parking during term time on weekdays may be very limited when students and staff are on campus. Public transport is strongly recommended wherever possible during these times as we cannot guarantee car parking facilities.

Outside of formally arranged open day and visit day events, staff may not be available to show guests round the campus or to talk to them about the courses. Please understand that staff commitments during weekdays means that we cannot guarantee that someone will be able to discuss your subject of interest with you or show you round the department. At weekends, the majority of staff are not on campus.

University accommodation/halls of residence are not available to view outside of our formal open day and visit day events. We regret that presently we are unable to accommodate requests for individual viewings.

Some access to facilities and buildings, such as the the library, catering facilities, lecture halls and classrooms, may not be available due to allocated commitments or restricted access at weekends.

Visitors to the campus should be mindful of their own health and safety, and that of others, while on campus.

Security

The campus is manned by our security staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Should you require assistance, they are located in Murdoch Building or can be contacted on 0121 331 6969 in case of emergency.
