Financial information - explained for students
As a University, most of our income comes directly from our students and their tuition fees.
These pages aim to give a clearer breakdown of how the money came in – and more importantly, where we spent it – during the past three academic years.
More details on the 2014-15 income and expenditure can be found by downloading our Annual Accounts.
Much of the public debate about university funding has focused on undergraduate fees and research
grants from government. This is only part of the story. Almost all universities that receive public
funding are charities, and raise income from a wide range of sources. More information on the diversity of these sources is available by downloading this leaflet from Universities UK.
